Drivers have suffered excessive restrictions ever since the motor car was invented. The “Red Flag” act demanded a man walk in front of cars carrying a red flag.
Increasingly petty rules are imposed upon drivers, without genuine justification.; and without any thought of the consequences for the economy and society as a whole.
Drivers are treated as an endless source of ready cash by financially incompetent governments and councils, who invent new taxes and fines at every opportunity.
There are over 37 million drivers in Britain β a clear majority in society, so the government and weak media bombard the public with endless stream of propaganda in order to silence dissent from drivers, and incite hysteria amongst those who do not drive.
It is no co-incidence that the House of Commons flag (in the background of this section) includes a portculis and chains β it reflects the mentality of many politicians.
When elections come along, many parties say little or nothing about driving lest drivers be reminded about how poorly they are treated. Much of the media is weak and compliant, so stays silent. Drivers need to understand the extent to which they are persecuted, and vote for parties than will treat them with respect.
