The Alliance of British Drivers (ABD) is pleased to endorse the candidacy of Motorists Champion – and ABD member – Richard Town, in the forthcoming Holborn and St Pancras parliamentary by election.
The ABD does not back party political nominees, but we are happy to endorse a strong independent pro-motorist candidate. One who is unafraid to speak up for beleaguered drivers in London.
As editor of the Greater London Transport Newsletter, he has shown he is willing to champion a fair deal for drivers – no easy task given the hostile anti driver regime that controls road transport in London where the driver is seen as a cash cow.
Richard is a former police officer, former Conservative Greater London Council member, and the editor of the Greater London Transport Newsletter.
He served as a Conservative member of the Greater London Council representing Bexley, Erith & Crayford from 1977 to 1981.
As editor of the Greater London Transport Newsletter, he has campaigned against the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs), and cycle or bus-only lanes – among others.
He has contributed commentary and appeared as a broadcaster on outlets like GB News, LBC, Conservative Home, the South London Press and regularly provides insightful articles for the ABD.
